Giving advice to families, schools and professionals on the EHCP process
Managing a range of SEN cases, including tribunal appeals.
Communicating with parents, professionals and other key stakeholders.
Carrying out checks on paperwork
Writing reports for families, schools and professionals when required
Submitting tribunal appeals on behalf of families complying with deadlines.
Attending professional meetings as a representative to support and advocate for SEN parents.
Dealing with initial enquiries via telephone and email.
Representing families at SEN tribunals, if required.
Assisting the principal SEN advocate and business manager with other duties relating to the service
Desirable qualifications and experience:
ISPEA SEN training or equivalent SEN law course.
A minimum of 1 years' experience working in or with Special education Needs (SEN) processes- such as with Education, Health and care Plans, review, seeking diagnoses, liaising with professionals, knowledge of SEN system and funding.
Experience working with SEN families.
A sound understanding of the EHC plan process.
Ability to manage a caseload and meet deadlines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organisation skills.
Ability to use Microsoft Office
This position will be offered on an ad-hoc/contact basis and work will be based according to business demands.
salary/pay rates will be based on relevant experience
